Final Process (Part One)

I think the choice in potential topic for the paper is an easy one. I will be attempting to answer the question "Are modern-day college campuses technopolies?"Although Slade's Made to Break was interesting, I enjoyed Postman's Technopoly much more. The idea of technology as panacea has always fascinated me. That view that all the answers lie in technology and is accepted without question amazes me.

I think Rutgers uses technology so frivolously. There could be better ways we could be immersing ourselves with technology than the way we currently do. So for my paper I would like to use Rutgers as a case study for a modern-day college university that is a technopoly.

I will probably look at the educational, operational, and social context in which the modern-day college can be seen as a technopoly.

I started reminding myself what Technopoly was about by reading my previous blog posts about the book. I will have to look through the book once more to find specific examples to support the argument that the modern-day college campus is a technopoly.
